A visionary leader. A devoted father and grandfather. A lifelong champion of human potential.
Join us in carrying his life’s work forward through a $300,000 Matching Gift Challenge.
On April 21, 2026, we lost our co-founder, mentor, and dear friend, Dr. Jim Loehr.
Dr. Loehr was one of the world’s foremost performance psychologists. He was a pioneer whose work transformed the lives of elite athletes, military leaders, executives, and performers across the globe. But beyond his extraordinary professional accomplishments, Jim was something even greater: a devoted father to three sons, a loving grandfather, and a man who believed deeply in the sacred potential of every human life.
In the final chapter of his career, Jim became convinced that his most important work was still ahead of him.
He believed the tools that help the world’s highest performers thrive should not be reserved for the elite few. They should belong to young people everywhere—especially those navigating the immense pressures of modern life.
That conviction became The Person First.
Today, we carry that mission forward: equipping youth and young adults with the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual tools they need to live with resilience, integrity, and purpose.
To honor Dr. Loehr’s life and extend his legacy, we are humbled to announce that the Sycamore Hill Foundation has committed a $300,000 Matching Gift Challenge in his honor.
Every dollar donated will be matched dollar for dollar.
This is more than a fundraising campaign.
It is an invitation to help carry forward the life’s work of a man who believed wholeheartedly in the greatness of young people.
Together, we can ensure Dr. Loehr’s wisdom lives on—in the hearts, minds, and futures of the next generation.
